Theme: Retro Redux
Hello!
I've seen a number of themes, and they all have their pluses and minuses, but ultimately, I never found one that completelt works for me.
I based this theme mainly on the SNES Mini theme (big surprise) and some commonly used fan-made icons. I went ahead and made/added icons to the theme that were not originally included in the package.
The "systems" menu has a more minimalistic, "menu" design. Most based on the fan-made theme mentioned previously. Inside the games menus, I use blurred screenshots, and in the game info section I turn them black and white and darken them a bit.
Assets were borrowed from other themes. I'm just trying for what I consider to be an aesthetically pleasing theme myself.
The only audio I have included, to cut down on size, is a basic menu theme (Uncharted Worlds from Mass Effect). I may in the future upload a curated audio collection as a separate file but no promises.

To-Do:
* Add in European/Japanese alternate versions of system themes.
* Add in custom collection icons
* (Possible) Custom Genre Icons
EDIT: One issue I am aware of is when I go into a cloned system in the Game Info screen it reverts back to the original, not the clone. Unsure how to resolve that.
Comments
Themes should be emailed to the dev and he will add to the themes sections.
As it shows in the main index.
Just saying is all.
Did that. It's looking like said creator is taking a bit of a hiatus so didn't want this to just go nowhere. Should it get added to themes then by all means I welc9me it be removed from here.
are you the forum administrator? Of course not ... if you want to draw attention put a watermelon on your head your clown
brother, don't give this crazy guy an idea. He must be just more retarded. If the administrator did not remove this sucker from the comment below, he will not remove it, because he is not the administrator, he is just an asshole
Very helpful guys really.
Just trying to make the forum tidy as intended so comments like you guys just made do not help anyone at all.
Pointless.
Your comments do not add anything to this forum, you are not the administrator, your comments should not be taken seriously!
And I gave the exact reason I posted it here. Is the hostility needed?
Sorry, brother, this retromam is an asshole. He does everything to get attention, even if someone writes something other than English, he appears to get the attention of others. In fact, if he doesn't understand, just translate the page. He is not the forum administrator.
I'm not trying to call names or sling stones. I'm just trying to appreciate this frontend, and in the absence of developer responses doing the best I can.
@Mahare thanks for sharing!
Hello,
Update to include the SG-1000 - extract this and add the folders to your pre-existing Retro Redux theme folder.
Great work.
Is it possible to get support for Wii ware, psp mini?
I have been collecting icons by Dwayne Hurst in order to make my own theme but I'm useless at backgrounds etc.
Perhaps if we had one central place to store icons, backgrounds, sounds etc (as unfortunately it looks like the developer has stepped back) the community could make some great themes.
Ask and ye shall receive (in this case at least). New clones added:
Likely Infocom games will need to be DosBox based, and I believe that you can do a custom Doom RetroArch core.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vSkcQfnkggPJ9uzhlyxNMuBV8hZeOQ8a/view?usp=sharingThis contains the aforementioned Sega SG-1000 as well.
Pokemon Mini.zip
https://drive.google.com/file/d/13unl6tJuGFz3nyV9KVJuDsOMQikVAVl7/view?usp=sharingSo this may be unusual for some but I added in the Pokemon Mini. The icon even has choices for all three color variants!
Looks cool, I'm not seeing any of the system icons in the zip though.
Theme: Retro Redux
https://digdroid.com/forums/discussion/343/theme-retro-reduxThe game info for cloned systems is a bug that hasn't been fixed yet. Keep going the developer resumes work but I fear we may well be stuck with this glitch.
Ugh. That's Dig's fault. I used the zipper in the app and it seems not to have worked properly. I'll upload them separately later, and I have another five systems I'm working on too.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aWZH83YJzluSJ2KNjo_AZHkEmmvRtZ4W/view?usp=sharingSorry about the missing icons. Added in the first link. The second link contains the following:
Apple II
Atari 8-Bit
Atari ST
CreatiVision
Famicom Disk System (as Clone 13)
Awesome work. I don't suppose you have a blank template for the system icons I could use? I'd like to help get all the systems included like I did with Re-Vive theme if that's ok.
You mean like the ones that were originally done by Ruckage? I do, it's on my work computer though so would have to be uploaded tomorrow. They've got a couple "rules" to be "official" - the icons in the middle use 4x4 pixel blocks and are constrained inside the box, and the lower part uses a font I'm unsure what it is but easy to cannibalize other icons for it. Any help really would be appreciated honestly.
Side note - the latest update has hiccups with Apple II where I labeled the images as appleii.png instead of apple2.png. That will be corrected in my next update.
Icon Template.pdn
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lAYpRST7aY5F1-_ap459Uw6PekooVAvi/view?usp=sharingSo here's a .png for the icon template. The Google Drive link is for a .pdn file which has the frame in the middle as a separate layer - to make "official" icons, I recommend copying that layer to a different image, reducing to 25% size, adding in your pixel art, enlarging by 400%, and copying back to the template, if that makes sense.
Alternate Themes.zip
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GJp7-IQSkO1yV_jGWElQ-s59x79DavTM/view?usp=sharingAlternate themes for the Genesis/Mega Drive, 32x, Sega CD/Mega CD, Turbografx/PC Engine, and Turbografx CD/PC Engine CD.
Not sure if any of these qualify as official but I'm still pretty much an amateur at this and do all this just using my phone so here goes.
I can work with most of these. We already have a Dreamcast, and I have worked on, but not released, a Supergrafx icon:
The font in this is more "pixelated" because it originated from the following, which is 25% of the size:
Generally, I try to avoid the "small print" on the ones like the Channel F icon you did. Some, like the Vic-20 have a bit "blockier" of a profile and thus would be easier to neaten up.
Do you have any objections to me using what you've made and "pixelating" them for the theme, making it look more cohesive?
This here was my attempt to revamp the XE if that makes a difference for you.
EDIT: Ultimately, I have some hiccups doing pixel art from scratch, but if I have a template, then I can generally get, if not amazing stuff done, passable stuff. That Android logo is an attempt at me "free-handing" it.
Your stuff looks much better. Do what you like with anything I post. I'm not precious about any of it.
Righteous. Appreciated. It'll give me something to do for a while, so I have a "stuck at home" project for when I'm bored. Depending on the answers I get from the developer, I just learned about Reset Collection, and if it's as easy to mod, I may port this there as well.
Sorry to bump, but as I cannot edit after a certain amount of time, I can't edit. Current plans:
I have icons set for Atari XEGS, CPC Amstrad, Sufami Turbo, and Supergrafx. The icons are the tricky parts. If I get "templates" for any missing systems, akin to the icons chalotron provided, I can certainly clean them up and add a system for it. I'd like to end up doing the entire list of supported systems when this is all said and done.
Here's a few more to polish up.
