Getting bezels (overlays) to work
I know this isn't DIG specific but I've gotten easier to understand, friendlier responses here than on the libretro forums, so I will ask here. In RetroArch how do you get bezel images to work? I can't get a straight, android specific answer anywhere.

Getting bezels (overlays) to work
https://digdroid.com/forums/discussion/9064/getting-bezels-overlays-to-workThis is something I've always meant to get setup up, I've got the bezels but never got around to implementing them. I'll see if I can figure out what needs to be done and get back to you.
Thanks Chalotron. Same here. I have lots of artwork/bezels in a couple of different formats and I can't make heads or tails of what to do.
If this is possible on Android it's unfortunately beyond my ability to fathom and I can't find any clues anywhere online on how to go about it either.
Okay, at least I know I'm not crazy. I'm no expert, but I'm no slouch either. It's convoluted at best. Thanks!
@slimreturns Just saw this after registering today.Have you figured this out since this was long time ago? I think I might be able to help on this. follow the steps below:
1. Search for bezel project android githhub. You'll find a zip file to download. It has a huge collection of beautiful bezels.
2. Then just to test pick one pair of a .png and .config pair out of it. Place it in either your internal storage or your external Usb or Harddisk.
3. Then go into retroarch, options, directory and then find overlay. Then in overlay, select the file path where you are putting your pair.
4. Then launch game from dig where you use retroarch as an emulator. while in game lauch the retroarch menu. Then go to on screen overaly. Turn display overlay on. turn of show inputs on overlay. then go to overlay preset. Find and select the overlay .config file that you put in. go out of the menu to see if it is actually there.
5. If it is there then launch retroarch menu again. click quick menu. go to over rides. then save content directory overides. then close the menu and you are good to go.
I can go into details but make the explaination as short as possible with the above. I run emulations with an android box too. Hope it is helpful. Let me know man!
Hi Hiroto! Welcome to the community! Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try later and report back.

Download BP4Droid.zip. Unzip with and move the 2 folders (config and overlays) to your shields /storage/emulated/0/RetroArch/ folder. Then point your retroarch directories for config and overlays to /storage/emulated/0/RetroArch/config and /storage/emulated/0/RetroArch/overlays respectively.
Launch game!!!
To make your own .cfgs in the location of your choosing.
Use the pc installer to get the files. Then use notepad ++ to batch rename all files in both the config and the overlays folders form “:/overlays/ to “/where/you/want/them/on/android/overlays/
Then point your retroarch directories of configs and overlays to /where/you/want/them/on/android/overlays and /where/you/want/them/on/android/configs respectively
